“Lara, The Yellow Ladybird”
by Martha Evans

Hello, kids! how are you today? I hope you are doing great!
Today we are going to listen and read along a story about a beautiful ladybug who wants to be like the others. Let’s see what happens in this story. Try to follow the reading and then, without the sound on, you can practise reading the story on your own.

Video + explanation: https://youtu.be/RTRK4ereSSY

What a lovely story, right? It is important that we love ourselves, who we are, no matter the colour of our skin, the way we look or if we are different from others, because each of us are unique in our own way!
Did you notice at the end of the story the different ways in which Lara painted her wings?
What colours and shapes did she use?

Let’s match the vocabulary first! Join the word with the correct pictures :

Complete the paragraph (use the words from the game to help you):

First, she painted her wings red.
Then, she_______________ her __________   ____________.
After that, she ____________  her  ____________    ______________.
Later, she painted her _______________  ___________ and _____________.
Finally, she decorated her wings with _______________________, a ______________, a ______________, ______________ and _____________.

Now, I invite you to design some new wings for lara when she feels like changing, but remember … just for fun!

Please send your creations and texts to your teachers.
I love you to infinity and beyond! Big kiss! Miss Sammy
